Please allow me to introduce myself- I'm a man of wealth and...

Right now, it's week 13 of the NFL season. More specifically, there are two games left of week 13. You know what, I'm sorry. For those who haven't yet explored the art of fantasy football-ing, allow me to explain. You pick a team of players in a draft, first. You want these players to do well individually, not as a team (some good ethics for the kids, no?). For example, someone like Mike Nugent, the kicker on the New York Jets (they actually had a Jets 24/7 special on him this afternoon), acts as a team mediator for the team. However, he's probably a 60% kicker (not good). These are bad fantasy numbers, so you'd avoid him in your draft.

Most leagues have a lineup of 1 quarterback, 2 running backs, 2 or 3 wide receivers, a tight end, a defense/special teams (the only team effort), and a kicker. Sometimes you can pick an individual defensive player, like Brain Urlacher (my league does not have this). As of week 13, and using these outlines, the best possible fantasy team you can have is as follows:

  • QB- Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts

  • RB- LaDanian Tomlinson, San Diego Chargers

  • RB- Larry Johnson, Kansas City Chiefs

  • WR-Chad Johnson, Cincinnati Bengals

  • WR- Steve Smith, Carolina Panthers

  • WR- Roy Williams, Detroit Lions/Andre Johnson, Houston Texans (either one)

  • TE- Antonio Gates, San Diego Chargers/Tony Gonzalez, Kansas City Chiefs (either one)

  • D/ST- Baltimore Ravens/Chicago Bears (either one)

  • K- Jeff Wilkins, St. Louis Rams/Robbie Gould, Chicago Bears (either one)

  • IDP (Individual Defensive Player)- Brian Urlacher, Chicago Bears
